Title: TE720 + Custom motherboard. Connect SDIO WP and CD signals ?
Post by: mgillott on January 09, 2017, 02:17:11 PM
Hi

I am designing a custom motherboard for my project, but using the TE0701 as a guide for the few I/O that I need

I see on the TE0701 the WP and CD signals form the SD Card socket are routed to the CPLD. I do not see that they are connected through to the TE720

On the reference TE720 Vivado project I see these signals are routed to EMIO but not actually connected.

Do I have to make any provision for WP and CD signals in order to a) boot from SD Card, and b) Access SD from petalinux?

Thanks

Hi,

on TE0701 SD-WP and SD-CD goes to Baseboard CPLD. Functionality is CPLD-Version dependents.
Card detect is used to switch Boot Mode of the Module FPGA. On the newest CPLD Firmware both Pins are also available from PL via CPLD RGPIO Interface.
You found basic Firmware description on:
