Title: SD Card Problem - Attach SD Card to TE0720
Post by: geimel on July 08, 2016, 07:52:35 AM
Hello,
I will use the TE0720 Zynq Board with my own Baseboard,
but i have a problem with my Mini SD card.
There is no sign of life.
The LED on the TE0720 Module flashes slower, but the Bootloader on the 4GB Micro SD Card ist not entered. (No FSBL Debug printouts)

When I boot over QSPI and insert the SD Card later, the SD Init function returns with Value 1.

I've attached the schmatic of the SD Card Socket <---> TE0720 Module

What is wrong?

Hi

we provide our baseboards and schematic for them and full Altium projects to get started.

Did you test the module and SD card on some of baseboard?
At first look I did not see anything badly wrong.

We have not validated MAX13035. With the SD Card level shifter we use on our baseboards additional pullups are not required, they are actually prohibited. But maybe MAX13035 requires pullup on CMD.

Module and SD card work fine @TE0701 Board

Ok, as usual, enable verbose debug in FSBL and at the bad end check with scope.

I've inserted the Card, FSBL_DEBUG_INFO ist set in the project, but there is nothing on uart cosole with inserted card

I've scoped the signals after reset. It's shown in the attachements.

now you need to troubleshoot the problem...

i cam only see that bootrom is trying to send SC card commands

whe DAT2 is low, is bit weird, all DAT should be idle high, i would assume.

anyway happy hunting..!

Ok, i've found the problem.
It was a broken wire between SMD SD Card Pad and a via.
Now its runs fine..  ;D
