Dear,
Currently I'm using a TE0715-05-51I33 with the TEF1002 carrier.
Recently I updated the Petalinux version from 2020.2 -> 2024.2.
When updating the BOOT.BIN in the 2024.2 version, I get the following warning:
"File does not seem to match flash data. First mismatch at 0x00000000-0x00010000"
After checking the data, only byte 0 seems to be off. The device will boot with the new BOOT.BIN as expected.
Seeing as there used to be a issue with a similar qspi device, see:
https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/Petalinux+Troubleshoot
" Error Verifying contents on S15FL127S QSPI flash memory chip"
Could it be that this QSPI device needs a simmilar patch in 2024.2? The QSPI device the board is using:
S25FL256SAGBHI20
Kind regards.
Hi,
We have observed this behavior during verification with the flashcp command on other module boards as well, and we are currently investigating the issue further.
For your series, the last update was performed using Vivado 2023.2, and in that version we did not observe any issues related to flashcp. As you have also noted, we were unable to detect any impact on the boot behavior.
Therefore, we do not believe that a missing patch is the root cause, since the issue appears to be related to the page size, and the flash device used in your design has a matching page size.
Could you please provide your Device Tree configuration for the QSPI interface?
Best regards,
Manuela
Hi,
we encountered exactly the same error pattern with an mt25ql256-qspi-x4-single and were able to resolve the issue by adjusting the device tree configuration. Three additional property entries were missing.
I have added an example below for reference:
/*------------------ QSPI PHY --------------------*/
&qspi {
#address-cells = <1>;
#size-cells = <0>;
status = "okay";
flash0: flash@0 {
compatible = "jedec,spi-nor";
reg = <0x0>;
#address-cells = <1>;
#size-cells = <1>;
spi-rx-bus-width = <4>;
spi-tx-bus-width = <4>;
spi-max-frequency = <90000000>;
};
};
After adding these properties, the QSPI flash operated correctly in x4 mode.
Best regards,
Manuela
