Title: TE0803 Heatsink
Post by: toshas on November 11, 2017, 10:58:00 AM
Hi!

I can't find any cooling solution for TE0803.
Is it compatible with
https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/KK0808-03-Cooling-solution-for-Trenz-Electronic-TE0808
or
https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/28606-Heatsink-for-Trenz-Electronic-Module-TE0820
Last one even has same C784 package type.

Thanks!

Hi,

at the moment we have no special heatsink for TE0803 and TE0820.
We will check, if it's possible to use KK0808 on TE0803. I will inform you, if I get results.
But you can't use KK0808 for TE0820.

It's possible to use BGA Heatsink. You found more information to package size and thermal specification on:

Hi,

KK0808 is not compatible with TE0803. We will create a heatsink for 803 like KK0808, but i can't tell you a timeline for this task.

Hi,

I would like to ask if there is any update on the heatsink for the TE0803.
I have noticed after some minutes of operation it can reach 60+ degrees, so I'm afraid to let it run continuously.
What should be a normal continuous operation temperature without the hearsink? I have a fairly small project inside.

Cheers,
Luis

Hi,
at the moment we offer:

it's a modified version, so you must order from our shop or modify by yourself.
But it's also possible to use another BGA heatsink with the correct size.

PS: 60°C is OK for FPGA module.
Limit depends on the assembly version:
--> page 5 table 2 --> Xilinx specified junction not environment!
