Title: TE0820 reference design vivado 2022.1
Post by: kraster on April 28, 2022, 03:09:30 PM
Hello we are starting off a new project targeting the Trenz Electronic TE0820 MPSoC Modules with Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+.
we would like to use Vivado 2022.1 and would be amazing if we can kickstart the project using your reference design.
the last reference design uploaded is for vivado 2021.2 (https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/Download/?path=Trenz_Electronic/Modules_and_Module_Carriers/4x5/TE0820/Reference_Design/2021.2/test_board (https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/Download/?path=Trenz_Electronic/Modules_and_Module_Carriers/4x5/TE0820/Reference_Design/2021.2/test_board)), can we use the same reference design inside vivado 2022 or it will not work?
would you update the reference design of the TE0820 for vivado 2022.1 in the near future?

thanks a lot
LC

Hi,
2022.1 update is not planned. We will stay on 20.2 until 22.2 is release.
We have a lot of different modules, so we can't take every Xilinx release. We also get the changes only when Xilinx publishes, so the update is always somewhat delayed. In addition, the even versions of Vivado are usually more stable. With the odd usually come the new developments and with the even versions then the bugfixes and improvements.

You can try to generate 20.2 with 21.2 --> change version in design_basic_setting.cmd/sh and create the project with the scripts. If this works depends on changes from xilinx. for petalinux I would recommend to rebuild everything without our petalinux template and first enter the settings that we have stored in the wiki.
