Title: TE0820 -03 and -04 MODE Pin
Post by: lalit on October 06, 2021, 11:50:12 PM
We are using TE0820-03 and will be using -04 soon.
I was looking at TRM for both configurations and MODE pin setting Table 2 in -04 is reverse of -03.
Has Trenz actually changed this?

Second question, is it actually fine to float the MODE pin if booting from QSPI?

Thanks.

Hi,
no it was only a mistake in the documentation, see document history:

We have weak pullup enabled (booting from flash), so floating is possible. But I would not recommend to keep boot mode not controllable. With every new Vivadoversion you get more and more trouble to program QSPI flash, when you has fix boot mode QSPI, so it's more save to have it controllable. --> Add Pullup also on your carrier and Jumper which can set it to gnd.
