Title: Using SD card on TE0803 + TE0808
Post by: johnabel on July 31, 2020, 03:10:41 PM
I want to use the SD card socket (J27) on the TE0808.
Looking at the TE0808 schematic, it looks like its connection to the PS is shared with the configuration SD socket using U15, and the selection seems to be controlled by the SEL_SD signal that comes from the CPLD, but I can't figure out where it comes from.
Looking at the PS configuration (with the Trenz board configuration) it looks like it uses SD1 on pins 45..51.

Can I just use SD1 in software and will it access the SD, not the config uSD?

Hi,

QSPI, SD and micro SD will be select with CD Pins, when you insert SD card. micro SD has higher priority, see

Alternatively changes CPLD firmware, source code is available on the download area.

Confusing. Does that mean that if I change the CPLD fw to select the SD card, it won't boot from the uSD?

No. CPLD update is not need

https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TEBF0808+CPLD#TEBF0808CPLD-BootMode

Set S5-1 und S5-2 to on
Inserted SD into micro SD card slot (this will select microSD automatically)
