Title: Zynqberry hat maximum rating
Post by: Munken on November 07, 2017, 10:51:42 AM
Hi Trenz

I'm working on an ECL <-> CMOS translation hat to the Zynqberry.
The ECL IC's draws a considerable amount of current.
All in all I would estimate I would need 500-600mA from the +5V rail.

I'm aware of the Maximum rating in the TE0726 TRM, however here I_load is for the AP2152SG-13,
which is the supply for the USB ports.

What is the maximum rating for the +5V and +3V3 rail in the hat header?

Hi,

current of 5V rail depends manly on your USB HUB. See USB 1.0,2.0 or 3.0 SPEC. Current needed by Zynq depends on your design and used IO Standards and speed.
See also " What's is the maximum power consumption of the module? ":

There is a optional 5V Pin header (J5) to supply 5V separately instead of USB.

3.3V will be generated by EN5311 with max current 1A. But this sourced also on board components and Zynq.

See:

So it's hard to tell you exact values
