Post by: JS on January 26, 2017, 08:55:05 PM
I tried to locate a pin file describing all IO connections, and found this master.xls, but it does not work. How Can I get the pinning?

Hello,

do you mean: http://www.trenz-electronic.de/fileadmin/docs/Trenz_Electronic/Pinout/TE_MASTER_PINOUT.xlsm
This Excel sheet need MS-Excel with activated macros. If this is a problem for you, please send a mail to our support. I can send you the generated list for the TE0725.

Hello, ok -
the point is that I do not use current MS office but OpenOffice. Also Macros are not a good idea in general :  Many of my customers disallow macros by default due to recent virus attacks. Engineers cannot change such settings, instead they have to send externally loaded excels to their internal  It-service first to get them opened. And this can take days!

Maybe it is a better idea to provide the definition here as a plain excel (one for each pcb) or csv or ucf / xdc.?

Hello,

I know for TE0725, it's a little bit oversized, but we provide a lot  of other modules with different carriers, so it's much better to handle this with one file.
There are a lot of other companies, which use excel with macros, to provide there data. For example Xilinx Power Estimator ( https://www.xilinx.com/products/technology/power/xpe.html ).

We provide also schematics as pdf with all information on our download page: https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/de/Download/?path=Trenz_Electronic/TE0725

I've send you the desired pinout files as pdf, xdc and xlsx for the TE0725 via mail.
