Title: TE0745 Ethernet performance Linux
Post by: th-oc on January 07, 2022, 11:05:09 AM
We are using a TE0745 Zynq module connected to an ethernet switch IC using the GEM1 hard ethernet core, through a fabric converter to RGMII. We have found that we are not able to achieve the performance we expected, our maximum speed is only around 200mbps when using a simple program to dump data over the ethernet interface.

We are using the Xilinx kernel xilinx-v2020.1 (5.4).

Does anyone have any performance data on what should be achievable in Linux, or suggestions to improve the performance or diagnose the issue?

Thanks

Hi,
sorry we haven't any performance test.

Maybe check one time timing constrains of your RGMII IP.

Or test one time if you see the same performance also on our reference design with ETH over MIO. In this case it's maybe a problem of the kernel drivers.
