Title: Bringing up Petalinux on TE0720
Post by: indar on May 23, 2014, 03:31:30 PM
Hello,

I have a silly problem when trying to run Petalinux on TE0720. Everything works fine except for the ethernet. When I boot-up the system (from SD), is says: "PHY is not detected" before u-boot starts loading the kernel. Although "eht0" is present (and I can change its ip) but I cannot ping my host computer. Does anyone has this kind of problem?
For bringing up the Petalinux, I use the Base Vivado Reference Project (https://github.com/Trenz-Electronic/TE0720-GigaZee-Reference-Designs/tree/master/TE0720-01_Base_Vivado-2013.4) and then follow Petalinux step described in http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/petalinux2013_10/ug980-petalinux-board-bringup.pdf
Fyi, if I run the preloaded (factory default) linux on SPI flash, everything works normally (I don't have any problem with ethernet). I have tried modify the dts file used by Petalinux in accordance to the TE0720-01-2IF.dts (especially in the ethernet section), but the problem still remains.

Any clue or suggestion?
Thanks in advance!

Indar

Hello Indar,

Probably you have some mistake in your configuration. If you send me files you using to boot system, I'll try to help you.
Please send it to a.kienko(at)trenz-electronic.de

Best regards

Hello Indar,

Your configuration looks almost the same as my old configuration for 3.9, 3.10 kernels. I attach my DTS for 3.13 kernel, please try it on your system.

Best regards
Oleksandr
