Title: Discharging Bank Supplies on TEI006 Carrier Board
Post by: JohnnyB on January 18, 2021, 07:39:56 PM
Hello,

i´m designing a baseboard for a TEI006 (Cyclone 10 GX) SOM.
In the schematic of SOM all Power Supplies are discharged as required in the Intel Datasheet.
On the carrier board TEIB0006 the 1.8V used for IO Suplly of Bank 2K and 2J is NOT Discharged.
For my understanding of Intel Datasheet discharging is needed on all supplies.
Should i do a discharge if these IO Supplies on my carrier or is this really not needed?
If yes, how to do this beacuause the Discharge Lines are not provided from module to carrier.

Thank you very much!

Hi
the design is some compromise as on the baseboard there is no active discharge. If you want to implement active discharge on your base we can provide an custom variation for the MAX10 CPLD to provide the discharge control signals for your base. Please contact out support per email for this.

Hi Antti,
thanks for your answer.
The question is more or less: Does missing the Discharge any damage to the Cyclone 10? If yes i would prefer a dischage signal.
