Title: TEI0006 board and SignalTap
Post by: adouville on March 09, 2021, 11:23:52 AM
Hello,
I'd like to use SignalTap with a TEI0006 board (revision 2) but it systematically fails with a 'Instance not found'.
I can succesfully program the board (in JTAG: either Cyclone 10 or MAX 10 FPGA / not tested .POF for Cyclone 10 / only tested .SOF for Cyclone 10). I'm sure my project contains the SignalTap instance.
I use the Arrow-USB Blaster and change the frequency to a low 1MHz. Using System Console, I see the STP instance!
Does it make sense to add timing constraints into the MAX (as JTAG passes through MAX)?
Can you help please? Any idea?
Many thanks.

We have succesfully used signaltap with TEI0006, we did not encounter any issues. The process itself is rather painful as it requires lots of manual work to get the instance of signaltap being visible. You kinda need to create new STP file each time you start the analyzer after any new compile, I did find it really annoying.
