Title: TE0703-05 Compatible Carrier Card
Post by: sonic on October 30, 2018, 06:45:00 PM
Hello,
I have been using TE0703-05 with Xilinx Zynq XC7Z020-1CLG484C FPGA module.
                    https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/TE0720-03-1CFA-SoC-Module-with-Xilinx-Zynq-XC7Z020-1-GByte-DDR3-8-GByte-e.MMC
Now I would like to upgrade my FPGA to 7030.

Would that be possible if I just change my FPGA module to Xilinx Zynq-7030 XC7Z030-1SBG485I ?
                    https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/TE0715-04-30-1IA-SoC-Module-with-Xilinx-Zynq-XC7Z030-1SBG485I-1-GByte-DDR3-4-x-5-cm.

From the compatible device says it is compatible, but just want to make sure before I place an order and Do I need to change any settings on TE0703-05?

Best Regards

Hi,
yes you can use TE0715-..-30-.. on TE0703. You must only pay attention on bank power. XC7Z30 has HP Banks, which support max. 1.8V.

Bank power can be selected viad Jumper on TE0703. Here are some notes for bank:

Hi John,

Thank you for the reply.

Ohh, So TE0703 has only VCCIOA which support 3.3V all the other Banks needs to connect to 1.8V

Actually, in my design, I am using SPI on VCCIOD which operates at 3.3V. Is it possible to still operate SPI at 3.3V with TE0703? If I change the position of the jumper spi pins will be pull-up to maximum 1.8V.
Best Regards

You must check datasheet of your end device, where you will be communicate with SPI. What did you connect to the SPI interface? Maybe levelshifter is needed.
