Q: why do the current consumptions of GlobalTop FGPMMOPA6C (PA6C) are sensibly higher than those of GlobalTop Gmm-u2p and GlobalTop SL3C modules?

All the following GlobalTop Technology GPS receivers

are based on the same MediaTek MT3329 chip. From the following table though

it is clear that the current consumptions of GlobalTop FGPMMOPA6C (PA6C) are sensibly higher than those of GlobalTop Gmm-u2p and GlobalTop SL3C modules. As GlobalTop FGPMMOPA6C (PA6C) has a passive internal GPS patch antenna (patch-on-top), the reason for a higher current consumption is the internal power supply distribution architecture:
