I can't figure out how the 88E1512 PHY_LED signals get routed to the RJ45 connector on the TE0703-05 carrier board. It appears they get laundered somehow through either the Zynq or an FPGA on each side of the B2B connectors but the actual signals that pass between the boards are not obvious.

Hi,
it's not connected to the RJ45. It goes to PS,PL and CPLD, see page 10, 6, 2, 4:
