no, the I2C EEPROM is not needed at all. you can use TE0422 as SGMII break out board.

Trenz Electronic FPGA Modules / How to find out how many IDDR ...
Last post by junejames - August 12, 2024, 09:45:59 AM
Hi,

I have an analog design background and am shifting to the FPGA world. For a future experiment I'll need an input of 80 differential signals (160 pins) running at 400 MHz DDR. This implies the adoption of 80 IDDR modules.

Where do I find out how many are available in a Xilinx FPGA?

The core I used is the VIC20 taken from MiST.

In this video we see how important the Cyclone10LP family is since it is the most suitable for inheriting code from previous versions of the Cyclone family, Cyclone II, Cyclone III and Cyclone IV.

UltraScale / Accessing UART1 on zynqmp TEB0...
Last post by Shridhar - August 07, 2024, 08:54:07 AM
Hi,

I am trying to connect Cortex-R5 stdin/out to uart1. I have enabled uart1 on PS, also built the cortex-r5 app with uart1 stdin/out, included uart1 node in system-user.dtsi:
&uart1 {
status = "okay";
};

still no success yet. I couldn't find any info regarding connecting to uart1 on TRM. Could you please give hints regarding this topic? As in what additional modifications necessary! Does uart1 has separate physical pins on the board to connect to host? or Can both uart0 and uart1 be accessed from xmod J24?

Thank you!

We bought TE0820-05-4AI21MI 4x5cm modules, but they do not have soldered Ethernet Phy IC and some other components  :'(

It is our mistake, it was written on aforementioned module page that Phy is not soldered.
We suppose that Trenz Electronic would not solder those components for us, so only solution is to buy components and solder by ourselves. For that we need Manufacturing Numbers or Ordering Codes or at least footprints sizes.

With help of PDF schematic and assembly files which we have at disposal, we kind a reverse engineer footprint sizes of C and R. In attach is resulting BOM as CSV table with txt extension (forum does not allow uploading xls because security reasons).

Could someone please could check if we count all components and correctly guess footprints.

Thanks in advance!

Trenz Electronic FPGA Modules / Corresponding PCIe Driver

Is there a corresponding PCIe driver for the PC for the example project as I am interested in utilizing the TEF1001 as a high-speed data acquisition platform but PCIe is unfamiliar to me?

Trenz Electronic FPGA Modules / Integrating eFPGA with Trenz E...
Last post by Eric12368 - July 31, 2024, 11:57:46 AM
I am currently working on a project involving Trenz Electronic FPGA modules, and I am exploring the possibility of integrating an embedded FPGA (eFPGA) to enhance the system's flexibility and performance. As I am relatively new to eFPGA technology, I would appreciate any guidance or advice from the community.

Here are some specific questions I have:

What are the key differences between traditional FPGA and eFPGA in terms of design, implementation, and performance?
Are there any particular tools or software recommended for programming and configuring eFPGA when used with Trenz Electronic FPGA modules?
Can you suggest any resources, tutorials, or documentation for beginners to get started with eFPGA?
What challenges should I anticipate when integrating eFPGA with Trenz Electronic FPGA modules, and how can these be addressed?
I look forward to your insights and experiences. Thank you!
