Forgive me... I'm a long-time Xilinx ISE guy, but new to Vivado.
I've purchased the following:
TE0715-04-15-1I3
TE0706-02
TE0790-02
I'm trying to perform some sanity checks by performing the following:
- Assemble PCA stack
- Set TE0706 VCCIO jumpers
VCCIOA - M3.3VOUT
VCCIOB - M3.3VOUT
VCCIOC - M3.3VOUT - Set TE0706 switches
S1.1 - don't care
S1.2 - PROGMODE - ON - JTAG enabled
S1.3 - MODE - OFF - QSPI Boot
S1.4 - EN1 - OFF - power enabled - Set TE0790 switches
S1.1 - normal mode - ON
S1.2 - reserved - OFF
S1.3 - VIO power source - OFF - J2
S1.4 - 3.3 power source - OFF - J2 - Power PCA stack with 5V
Draws 650mA - Test my target JTAG connection
Computer connected to TE0790 via USB cable - Download prebuilt TE0715 Test Board project
https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TE0715+Test+Board - Build and download my own simple project
https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2017_3/ug940-vivado-tutorial-embedded-design.pdf
Unfortunately, I'm stuck at step 6 as I have no idea how to use Vivado to connect to the TE0790 adapter...
Thanks in advance,
Brad
Hi,
TE0790(XMOD) DIP for TE0706 (VIO from Board, 3.3V from USB): 1ON,2OFF,3OFF,4ON --> see https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TE0790+TRM#TE0790TRM-DIP-switch
JTAG on Vivado:
- Install Vivado
- Connect JTAG from XMOD to PC
- Power on your setup
- Create Reference Design like described here:
- https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TE0715+Test+Board#TE0715TestBoard-Hardware
- --> te0715-03-15-1i3 is the same as te0715-03-15-1i
- https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TE0715+Test+Board#TE0715TestBoard-DesignFlow
- -->a make step 1 to 4
- Open Vivado HW Manager (PS: It's also possible to open Vivado HW Manager without Design Generation and connect)
- Run Auto Connect
- You should see ARM +FPGA Part (PS: if you download Bitfile only, PS (ARM) is not initialise)

PS: First step use SD Boot and try prebuilt files with instructions from here:

Thanks, John!
As you noticed, it was simply the JTAG power source switch...
Cheers,
