Hello,

We are looking to upgrade our design to Kintex XCKU40 and it looks like TE0841 fits our performance requirements. However, I have the following questions :

1) The number of available HR (3.3V) capable IO pins in the product webpage of TE0841 is mentioned as only 12. However, in the master pin out document and also the 4*5 integration guide webpage I see that there are a total of 48+8 = 56 HR IO pins available. Which one is the correct number : 12 or 56 ?

2) The SPI flash on TE0841 seems to be of capacity 256 Mbits (32 MByte). Xilinx Ultrascale configuration guide says 1 bit file for XCKU040 is around 128 Mbits. So, at max it can hold only 2 revisions of bit file. But, we need to have at least 4 revisions in the SPI flash. So, is there a possibility that we can request Trenz Electronics for custom TE0841 with higher capacity SPI flash (at least 512 Mbits) ? If this is not possible, then please let us know of any other way to address this ?

Thanks,
Raju

Hello,

to 1) our product webpage is not correct. TE0841 has 56 HR IOs to the B2B connectors. 48 has variable bank power and 8 are fix to 3.3V.
See:
IO Bank 64 is with user defined  power supply and IO Bank 65 is with fix 3.3V.

to 2.) Assembly option should be possible, but we must check the availability of the bigger flash.

Thanks for the reply !

Regarding (2), is it possible to confirm now if we can have 512 Mb SPI flash or not ? Because, without this we cannot move further with our design upgrade decision as we definitely need to have 4 revisions...It should not happen that we design a custom carrier board for TE0841 and later we are told that only 256 Mb module is available (this would be a total catastrophe)...which is the reason why I am asking for the confirmation now !

Raju

Hi,

MT25QU01GBBB8E12-0SIT will be possible. But it has a delivery time of appr. 3 month at the moment and will be more expensive. Which quantity did you need? Maybe we try to get some samples.
Can you write to our support (support@trenz-electronic.de), to speak about the details.

Okay, sure we will write to the support email when we have the concrete numbers along with our expected timeline...
