Hi,

I have a TE0630 module with FX2 v2.2 firmware and Dewesoft driver, VID/PID 0547/1002.
I tried to upgrade to v3 firmware :
- Following recovery procedure, I wrote TE_USB_FX2-V03.00.iic in EEPROM. It was successful.
- In Windows XP Device Manager I could see under "Other devices"  TE USB FX2 entry. Following instructions in "UM-driver-TE_USB_FX2.pdf" document, I reinstall driver with .inf file in "TE_USB_FX2-drivers\MS-Windows-XP" directory, but it fails and I can see in Device Manager that TE USB FX2 is now under "%TE-class-name%" in place of "Other devices".

I don't know what I have done wrong. I tried several times with power off/on module and PC with the same result.
I have Windows XP Pro with Service Pack3 on a 32 bit PC.

Thanks for your help

Best regards

Pascal

Dear Pascal,

It seems you did it all right.
We are investigating upgrade issues on legacy installations.
Probably the quickest fix is the following:

a) un-install your version_3 driver

b) edit version_3 driver inf file as follows (revert GUID to version_2):
from
ClassGUID = {80419720-177A-4ed0-97C0-0996A12A1F4F}
back to the deprecated (and possible reason of your upgrade failure)
ClassGUID={36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff553428

a) re-install your edited version_3 driver

I look forward to your feedback. Regards,

Hi Horsa,

when I change .inf file with the classGUID as you told me and reinstall the driver, I have the same error but TE USB FX2 appears now under "USB controllers".
If it could help you, in properties/Device status I have an error code 28.

Best regards

Pascal
