Q: what is the difference between Digilent "Desktop Switching Power Supply" (DTSWPS) and Digilent "Switching Power Supply" (SWPS)?

The two power supplies are equivalent: they both provide a 5 V DC regulated output up to 4 A.

There are a few differences though:

  • Form factor (some prefer the wall-wart style, others prefer the desktop style)
  • The desktop supply has more shielding along its cables
  • Plug options: the wall-wart supply comes with a US and EU plug adapter, while the desktop supply has the option of US, EU, and UK cables (but you can only choose one, selected when you put the product in your cart)
