Q: What is the difference between GlobalTop PA6B and GlobalTop PA6E?

GlobalTop FGPMMOPA6B (PA6B) and GlobalTop FGPMMOPA6E (PA6E) have the same dimensions.

What  PA6E has more than PA6B:

  • a pin for external antenna connection
  • in absence of an external antenna, PA6E will uses its own internal patch antenna for GPS reception similar to PA6B
  • once the presence of external antenna is connected and current is detected, the module will switch to using external antenna instead
  • automatic external/internal antenna switching capabilities using current detection (MediaTek GPS chip though can only process one incoming antenna signal at a time)

What  PA6E has less than PA6B:

  • USB port

Neither PA6B nor PA6E support RTCM.
