Could I have some more information about the "Type" field of command packet $PMTK225 = PMTK_CMD_PERIODIC_MODE?

The "Type" field can assume the following operation mode values: 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 9

  • '0' = go back to normal mode
  • '1' = Periodic backup mode
This power mode can be exited (by sending command $PMTK,225,0*2B) just during run-time, not during sleep-time.
  • '2' = Periodic standby mode
This power mode can be exited (by sending command $PMTK,225,0*2B) anytime (during both run-time and sleep-time).
  • '4' = Perpetual backup mode
This mode can never be exited with any (software) commands, but rather with a (hardware) trigger. Please contact us for more information.
This mode is currently (March 2012) supported only by GlobalTop Gmm-u2p (timer pin). See Gmm-u2p data sheets (timer function description, timer pin description and reference designs) for further details.
  • '8' = AlwaysLocate standby mode
This power mode can be exited (by sending command $PMTK,225,0*2B) anytime (during both run-time and sleep-time).
  • '9' = AlwaysLocate backup mode
This power mode can be exited (by sending command $PMTK,225,0*2B) just during run-time, not during sleep-time.
