TE0715-4 and usb 1-1 device descriptor read/64, error -71

Hi, I'm having trouble getting USB to work under petalinux 2018.2
Board used is TE0715-04-15-2I , carrier board is TE0701.

when plugging is USB flash card (tried multiple), the following happens:

1. lsusb -t reporting shows normal : Bus01.Port1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=ci_hdrs/1p, 480M
2. next , errors start showing up: (multiple times)
 usb1-1 ; device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb usb1-port1: unable to enumerate USB device.

also in dmesg the errors show up after message:
usb1-1: new low-speed USB device number 4 using ci_hdrc
usb1-1: device not accepting address4, error -71

can you please guide me in solving the error -71 usb issue?

can you try out prebuilt binaries of our newest reference design for your assembly variant:

Put files from your assembly variant on SD and boot from SD. Do you see the same error there?

Did full unstall of 2021.2 Xilinx system and ubuntu and used the prebuit files for the board.
Unfortunately the same USB error keep on showing.

dmesg shows again:

usb1-1: new low-speed USB device number 4 using ci_hdrc
usb1-1: device not accepting address4, error -71

so, with 2021.2 and prebuit images, same issue persists.

Could it be a hardware issue?

it might sound farfetched but you could try another 12V power supply. I once had a similar problem caused by the power supply,

Hi Waldi, thanks for the suggestion. Just tried another model of PSU and - as indeed farfetched - no difference. Errors still persist

537378  is from 4.2019
555190 is from  4.2019
I think something is maybe damaged.

If you want to use this service, we would need both the module and the carrier and we would need to know which power supply and USB stick you used

Thanks for your kind offer. I Indeed guessed something had to be wrong maybe on hardware.

I have also tried with anothet TE0715 module serial 537381 and the same behaviour, so I'm expecting the carrier.
Will go through check (microscope) this weekend.

Final update. replaced L87 and cleaned traces to USB with flux on the TE0701 board.
Most probably due to usage issue on this carrier board from my side.
All is operational now and USB stick are recognized. (also under original 2018.2 build).
