Dear Trenz Team,
I have recently bought a TEF1001-160-2, and to add a DDR3 SODIMM module, I chose MT16KTF1G64HZ which is one of the MIG7 IP core current compatible product. however when I wanted to define pinout, I realized that Micron DDR pinout is different from TEF1001 schematic (rev2) provided by Trenz. Normally Xilinx boards also use pinout used in Micron families (not like ATP products such as what you suggested AW24P7228BLK0M).

Update:
After searching I realized that TEF1001 uses x72 data width which supports ECC (But why?! it is rare to use such a memory) . so it seems that it is not possible to use non-ecc x64 DDR3 on this board. right?

Meysam

Hi,
TEF1001 has ECC SODIMM Socket, see:
https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TEF1001+TRM#TEF1001TRM-DDR3SDRAMECCSO-DIMMSocket
or schematics page 22:
https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/en/Download/?path=Trenz_Electronic/PCIe_Cards/TEF1001/REV02/Documents

You are right DDR3 ECC SODIMM is unfortunately not pin compatible with DDR SODIMM.

We use AW24P7228BLK0M on our reference design (it looks like you've already figured it out yourself)
https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TEF1001+Test+Board#TEF1001TestBoard-Requirements

There was also some issue with Vivado 18.2:
https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TEF1001+Test+Board#TEF1001TestBoard-ReleaseNotesandKnowIssues
--> MIG works only with 64Bit and ECC disabled in BD Design or optional 72Bit on RTL MIG IP.
