5V accidentally powered to a 3.3V I/O Pin in TE0720 module

I accidentally powered a 5V signal to a 3.3V I/O pin of TE0720 SoC module attached to TE0703 carrier board, due to lack of visible label, and the TE0720 SoC module won't turn on anymore.

1) Does it mean that the TE0720 module is destroyed? I thought there is some overcurrent/overvoltage protection for I/O pins.
2) Is the TE0703 carrier board also affected/destroyed?
3) Can the TE0720 module be repaired? If yes, how?

was the module on or off ans you powered 5V to 3.3V IOs? Did you powered only IOs or also IO Bank voltage?

5V is over absolute maximum rating:

So it can happens that something is damage.
There are small protection diodes on the IO inside the SoC, but in case the module was not powered, but in case the module was not powered, they will source other power domains and this can also destroy the FPGA:

2) Is the TE0703 carrier board also affected/destroyed?

Maybe. you should remove module and measure power and also check if you can see lattice CPLD with Diamond programmer.

Can the TE0720 module be repaired?

Does the module not boot or does the module not powered up?

In case the SoC(FPGA) is damaged it's a total economic loss.

Regarding to question 2:

I also tested the TE0703 carrier board without the TE0720 SoC module to see if it is okay.
It seems that the voltages 5VIN, 3.3V, LEDs (D1 and D2), and Ethernet are fine.
But as I tried to check if the CPLD is fine via Diamond Programmer, it cannot be detected.
I read in a forum that the Diamond Programmer can't be detected if it is "protected".

I just want to confirm if the CPLD is protected or not? If not, does it mean that the TE0703 carrier board is also damaged by the incident?

Hi,
CPLD is not protected.
1.at first close all xilinx programm and check that hw_server.exe is closed one task manager (otherwhise kill this process)
2. Set DIP to TE0703 CPLD access: https://wiki.trenz-electronic.de/display/PD/TE0703+CPLD+Firmware
3. try to connect.
